Fairy world

oil painting

100X100 cm

Elyn has withdrawn into a world of her own, in which her creations take precedence over all other considerations. It doesn't matter what others do or say. A fulfilled life for endless work, a lifelong job. The only things that matter to her and make her happy are art, the Luberon sun, love, and the simple life. Like Oskar, the young hero of Günter Grass, the writer, and Volker Schlöndorff, the filmmaker, Elyn has deliberately chosen not to grow up anymore. The adult world brings her doubts, fears, and far too much caution. The saturation of this same world with material goods, with interests without a future, with ambiguous temptations, with jealousy that never begins again, imposes an unbearable test of the mind, a total gap between being and appearing. Refusing the theft of her soul, she took refuge in a world where fairies still exist, an innocent and colorful world. Where all colors live. It is this world that she painted and her fairy world met her little girl's dreams, her happiness and her hopes.
